Tim Miller (R-MN- 07) Endorsed by Minnesota State Representative Steve Green (2B)

June 1, 2017 – Alexandria, MN… Tim Miller, the conservative candidate for Congress in Minnesota’s Seventh Congressional District has announced the endorsement of Representative Steve Green (2B) from northern Minnesota.

Representative Green issued the following comments about his endorsement for Miller in the race for MN-07: “I am pleased to endorse my friend, colleague and fighter for the conservative cause, Tim Miller, for Congress in our 7th District.  For too long, rural Minnesotans have been underserved at the federal level.  We’ve become accustomed to managing the downward trend we’re facing by way of slowed economic growth and a lack of innovation.  I believe with Tim’s courageous leadership and commitment to conservative principals, the future looks much brighter for our rural district.  I am proud to endorse him and look forward to changing the direction of Minnesota’s 7th District.”

In response to Representative Green’s endorsement, Miller had the following comments: “It’s an honor to receive the tremendous endorsement of a true conservative leader and fellow rural Minnesotan like Steve Green.  Steve has worked tirelessly on behalf of his constituents in the State House, and is immensely respected among our critical grassroots in rural Minnesota.  It’s a true honor to have his support in this race, and I look forward to continuing to build our leadership team as this race develops.”

Steve Green is in his third term serving as the State Representative for District 2B, which includes portions of Becker, Clearwater, Hubbard, Mahnomen, Otter Tail and Wadena Counties.  Green serves on the Agriculture Finance, Environment and Natural Resources, Legacy Funding and State Government Committees in the Minnesota House.  A graduate of Detroit Lakes Area Vocational Technical Institute, Green ran his family’s business in rural Minnesota, Lakeland Greenhouse, for more than twenty years.  Steve and his wife Cindy have six children they were proud to raise on their family farm in rural Minnesota.

Tim Miller is a U.S. Army Veteran, small business owner and Member of the MN House of Representatives.  As Vice Chair of the Agriculture Finance Committee, Tim successfully led efforts to roll back burdensome state regulations that have gotten in the way of agribusiness. Notably, he stood up against legislation backed by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency that have resulted in devastating regulatory restraints on the sugar beet and ethanol industries.  Miller was the chief author of the Rural Finance Authority bill that received unanimous bipartisan support and was signed into law by Governor Dayton in February, 2017.  He lives with his wife Cherie and their family in the town of Prinsburg in Kandiyohi County.  Tim and Cherie have been blessed with a blended family of seven children and four grandchildren.
